Homemade Face Cream Recipes That Won’t Clog Pores

Homemade Face Cream

Homemade face creams without a doubt are better for you and your skin compared to chemicals loaded commercial face moisturizers promising unrealistic results. Before you start mixing your own homemade face cream, it’s important to educate yourself which ingredients are suitable for your skin type. If you have especially oily skin, it’s essential to only use ingredients that will not clog your pores leading to breakouts and adverse reactions.

Some common ingredients that certain homemade face cream recipes require, including glycerin, lanolin, cocoa butter and mineral oils are notorious to cause blackheads and blemishes on oily skin types. These ingredients should be avoided if your skin is prone to break outs.

On the other hand, if you have dry skin, using water based humectants is inappropriate for your skin type. Coconut oil and olive oil for dry skin are some of the most basic and effective ingredients to include in your recipe for homemade face cream. It does not, however, mean that oily skin does not require any oils as a component for your homemade moisturizing lotion. Picking the right type of oil for your acne prone skin will provide the right level of hydration without clogging your pores.

Grape seed oil is the top base for any homemade face cream recipe that will make your pores appear less noticeable, balance oil production and provide superior hydration for your skin.

Here’s the recipe for a great homemade face cream that will not clog your pores:

Over a water bath stir 4 tablespoons of grape seed oil with 2 tablespoons of natural vegetable based cosmetic wax to create a cream like consistency until fully dissolved. Take off the heat and add ¼ cup of distilled water with 2 tablespoons of Aloe Vera gel that have been warmed separately over a water bath. You can add 1-3 drops of several essential oils of your choice, including tea tree oil, bergamot or lavender. Top it off with an addition of 4-5 drops of grapefruit extract and 2 capsules of vitamin E.

This homemade natural face moisturizer will not break your bank and can safely and effectively moisturize your skin.
